Yayoi Yasuoka
Graduated top of her class from the Wind, String and Percussion Course in the Department of Performance at Osaka University of Arts. Upon graduation, she received the President’s Award and performed in numerous concerts for new graduates. She won third prize in the Wind Instrument category at the 9th Osaka International Music Competition (with no first or second prizes awarded). In 2012, she held a solo recital. She is currently active as the principal euphonium player with the British-style brass band ‘Osaka Concert Brass’ and as a member of Brass Paradise Osaka. She also organises music appreciation events throughout Japan, serves as a judge for various competitions, and mentors younger musicians. She studied the euphonium under Hiromasa Kimura and Masami Fukagawa.
