I was involved in the development of the Brasspire tenor-bass trombone as a special tester.
I was particular about making an instrument that could be played in an orchestral setting, in a section or in an ensemble with other instruments, and that could be handled by middle and high school students with a natural blowing feel.
The slide material, the position and thickness of the strut, and the elasticity of the rotary rubber were all tested over and over again.
One of the charms of this instrument is that it can be used for everything from compact chamber music to orchestral performances that require a wide sound, thanks to the introduction of a movable strut.
The BPTB-K206 is the result of the pursuit of the various elements required of modern trombones.
